| Maureen
Kirk-Detberner Watching vibrant Sonora Desert sunsets from her back porch inspired Maureen Kirk-Detberner to buy a digital camera. Starting with a Canon point and shoot camera as her constant companion, Maureen began her photography career. Getting tired of only taking photos on weekends and after work; in the fall of 2009, Maureen left her job in Information Technology to pursue photography. Maureen enjoys combining her love of horses and the desert by taking photographs of the rare Colonial Spanish horses, people with their horses and pets, and the landscape of the Sonoran Desert. Maureen’s photos have appeared in the Arizona Daily Star, the Archaeology Southwest, Schmap Tucson Guide, Arizona Equine Resource Guide, Equine Enthusiast, Nowpublic.com, Wikipedia, Toscana Studio & Gallery, and the Blue Raven Gallery. For the last two years Maureen has been working on projects to honor the history of Colonial Spanish Horse in Arizona. In March 2011, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed a declaration that the Spanish Colonial Horse is the Arizona State Heritage Horse! For more information on this project go to the website at http://www.arizonahorseproject.com. Maureen Kirk-Detberner and her husband share their home in the desert with three horses, two dogs, two cats and eight chickens. Please call gallery for prices and sizes. Thank You.
