Meg Newburg
Meg Newberg was born in Mexico and grew up just north of Tucson,
Arizona. She spent her childhood building forts in the wash by day
and watching the sunset and moon rise by night. Countless hours of
outdoor play and hiking fostered in her a deep love for every aspect
of nature.
In the fall of 2008 Meg was chosen to be the featured artist for the
Catalina Artists Studio Tour. She has studied under Phil Starke and
R.A. Heichberger. Meg recently won first place in the 2010 Art
in Oro Valley competition and exhibition hosted by the Southern
Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance.
“Art makes the ordinary extraordinary. I want to inspire engagement
with the natural world. I want my paintings to communicate life’s
deep encounters with beauty so that they are not forgotten”
