  • August 2011 - Toscana Gallery is honored to present our upcoming show:

    "Pause For Beauty" - October 29, 2011 - 6:00 pm -9:00 pm.

This is an annual member show for the Southern Arizona Arts Guild and will represent a multitude of "Beautiful" art in many media.

During this show, Toscana Studio and Gallery, in conjunction with The Southern Arizona Arts Guild (SAAG) is launching "The Breast Project", a project that has been in development for 2 years. Breast cancer survivors volunteered to donate their bodies for casting pre and post surgery/reconstruction. These busts will be cast and several artists will be selected to create a piece of art depicting their unique view, or experience with breast cancer. 100% of the proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

For more information about the project, contact Linda Ahearn at 575-1445.

She doesn’t mind if they don’t wave back – she’s a sculpture – a portrait of owner Linda Ahearn’s daughter..

Komen Foundation. “Linda asked me if I would mind if she could do a casting,” Gouveia said. “I said 'No, go right ahead'.

While she works, Ahearn, owner of the Toscana Studio and Gallery in Oro Valley, wears a long jean vest splattered with years of paint, plaster and clay. The vest's sleeves are ripped off at the tattered seam along the shoulder to expose her red long-sleeved undershirt....
