Linda Ahearn Artist
Sculptor
“While in my Junior year of college, I had the wonderful opportunity to study in Florence, Italy. There, I fell in love with sculpting. I am completely passionate about working in three dimensions, sculpting figures from life, and I thrive on the physicality of it. I have been fortunate to study under several master sculptors and work with many local sculptors.
I primarily work with live models working to capture a single moment and emotion in a particular piece. To me working with a live model is the best way to a mastery of anatomy and proportions. I consider myself to be a realistic artist and I enjoy capturing the details of the body and clothing. Human emotion is so captivating to me and I spend countless hours trying to evoke that through my work. I have been inspired by Native American and Southwestern Culture my entire life.”
Painter
“I fell in love with oil painting when I was 12 years old and I have been painting ever since. After receiving my BFA with an emphasis in oils, I continued painting every opportunity I could, studying with various instructors, and stretching my skills.
I am a representational painter and love working from life, but I am particularly inspired by the Impressionists and try to keep a fresh and painterly handle with my brush strokes. Every week we hire a different model in costume, so you will see many figurative paintingsin my galleries. I love to paint landscapes as well as still-lifes, using both brushwork and palette knife. I paint specific commission pieces, too.”
