Linda Ahearn  – Toscana Studio and Gallery- Artist /Instructor /Gallery Owner

Toscana Studio is a working art studio specializing in painting, sculpture and three dimensional art. It is operated by Linda Ahearn, who is a professional local artist in Tucson, Arizona.  With unending love and support coming from the love of her life and husband of 25+ years, Terry Ahearn, and two fantastic children, Haley and Cole, Linda finds peace in their arms. There has also been incredible support from friends of Toscana and the community to create this wonderful gem in the gorgeous foothills of Oro Valley.

Linda began her art career at the age of 12 with oil painting classes. She continued to focus in oil until her junior year in college when she attended art school in Florence, Italy. At Gonzaga in Florence, she learned many different sculpture methods, and was quite inspired by the master sculptors work in Europe. She finished her degree with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Holy Names College in Oakland CA in 1984.

Since then, Linda has been involved in many continuing education courses in the arts, continuously refining her techniques by learning new mediums, and expanding her knowledge of the arts. Linda  specializes in figurative clay and bronze  sculpture and is actively seeking public art commissions for bronze monuments around the country. She has received a major public art commission in Oro Valley, AZ, and accepts private commissions as well.

Linda continues to paint prolifically, mostly from live models, and this feeds her inspirations for her sculptures. For several years, she has continued to teach painting and sculpture to children and adults.  Linda has inspired others to look within to find the spark of creativity to express themselves.

Linda is very active in the community art scene and has been a representative on many art panels for selection of exceptional artists for awards. She received a Directors Award for Tucson Pima Art Council Open Studio Tour in 2008. She continues to be on several jury panels throughout Tucson. Linda is a member of several artists organizations, National Sculpture Society, Southern Arizona Arts Guild, Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural  Alliance, and the Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce.
